Wyrt in Tormenta20: three card game adventure hooks
Use a Wyrt match to introduce a clue, a rival, or a decision in Tormenta20, with three original scenes to adapt.
A Wyrt match gives adventurers a reason to sit with an informant, rival, or patron. The following are original narrative ideas, not official Tormenta20 rules. Use the Wyrt card tool to show cards and resolve checks with the book your group uses.
1. The card that should not be there
At a gaming house in Ahlen, a character finds a card marked with the seal of a missing courier. The host insists that the deck arrived sealed that morning. The mark might be a forgery, stolen property, or a call for help.
Player choice: stop the game and question the host, keep playing to watch the other guests, or trace the courier. Prepare one clue for each path: a delivery record, a witness, and the card maker's mark. No single choice needs to block the investigation.
2. A favor instead of coins
A noble offers information about a safe route but will only talk during a match. The stated wager is small; the real price is a public favor owed later. Tell the players what commitment she proposes before the first card is drawn.
Player choice: accept, negotiate, or find another source. A red or black card can mark a change in mood without automatically deciding a win or loss. If checks are needed, use the Tormenta20 procedures your group agreed on.
3. The deck as a code
Two merchants exchange cards in plain sight and leave through different doors. Colors and values encode the time and place of a delivery. Characters can learn the code by interviewing an employee, comparing a recorded sequence, or following one merchant.
Player choice: alert the authorities, intercept the delivery, or find the recipient. Show only cards the characters have seen. Prepare those images in the Wyrt gallery before the session.
Plan the consequences before drawing
Write down what changes if the characters win, lose, or leave the match. The deck is a scene prop; it does not replace the GM's ruling on checks and consequences. The official Coração de Rubi adventure includes a Wyrt match to consult if you want a Tormenta20 reference.
