SCP access cards for RPGs: turn a credential into a clue

An SCP access card for a tabletop RPG can reveal who entered an area, link someone to an incident or start a conversation with facility security. ERPG’s Cartão SCP supplies a visual base for this object. Your campaign determines what the credential permits and what it proves.

What the preview already shows

The card has a yellow band, the Foundation symbol, the words “Secure Access Card,” Site 19, an identification number, level 2 and a barcode. The number 2 appears both prominently and within the level label: keep these references consistent if you adapt the credential.

The preview does not show a staff name or portrait. If your scene needs them, check how to add them in the editor and review the available space. Alternatively, associate the numeric identifier with a name in a record narrated by the game master.

A barcode is visible in the image. Its operation as a digital clue or terminal input has not been verified; plan the result within the fiction without depending on scanning the export.

Define what the credential authorizes

The SCP Wiki’s security clearance reference distinguishes a person’s information clearance from their need to know a specific subject. At the table, you can combine a general level with permission for a particular area or assignment.

Decide three things before play: who the card is associated with, where it is recognized and which information becomes available when it is presented. These are game master notes; they do not all need to appear on the handout.

Clearance differs from an anomaly’s object class. The object class guide explains that separate concept. Avoid using the card’s number to classify the creature under investigation.

Three ways to use the format

These situations are original campaign suggestions. The template provides the visual composition; you prepare the records, characters and consequences.

Choose one role before adding others. One card does not have to resolve every door and every mystery in the facility.

Link the card to a report

Relatório da Fundação can mention the inspection associated with the credential. Repeat an identifier or timestamp across the two documents while giving each different information. The card establishes a connection; the report describes the event.

In the SCP report tutorial, a maintenance record conflicts with an observation in the corridor. The credential can identify someone to ask about that discrepancy. If the card is lost or ignored, a witness can still point to the responsible department.

Review the adaptation before sharing

Open the template page, check access and continue to the editor. Inspect the available layers before planning specific changes. Review the site, identifier, level labels and images; the public description and preview do not establish that every detail is an independent text layer.

Export using your account’s options and check readability at the intended size. For paper props, inspect scale and margins in print preview. For online play, share the image and describe essential details aloud.
